A volcano born from the sea

The origin of the minerality (or verticality) found in the wines from Etna is not a myth: when you taste our Carricante or our Etna Bianco, you immediately notice this marine and sapid scent, this can ben easily explained. Mt. Etna, in fact, was born from submarine eruptions that occurred about 500,000 years ago and the numerous finds of fossil seashells testify the existence of an ancient sea now disappeared, that occupied the entire area, where today the highest volcano in Europe stands. This explains the “mystery” of the salinity found in the wines from Etna: that’s because “a Muntagna” was born from the sea!
