The latest edition of Vinitaly recorded 97 thousand total attendees in the Veronafiere pavilions with a 7% increase in visitors, a third of which from abroad coming from more than 130 countries.
The Vinitaly and the City event, held in the center of Verona, also exceeded 50 thousand attendees, the same number as a year ago but with one less day in calendar.
Looking at the origin of main buyers from the Made in Italy wine key markets, recorded positive balances as follow: United States (+5%), Germany (+5%) and the United Kingdom (30%). On the other hand, arrivals from China (-20%) were down. Among the EU countries, attendance increased from France (+30%), Belgium (+20%) and the Netherlands (+20%). Increases also for Switzerland (+10%) and Japan (+10%) compared to almost stable arrivals from Canada and Brazil.
Such great result in a so complex scenario characterized by the worsening of duties by USA as well as geo-political tensions at international level in recent times which therefore have not affected the buyers desire to explore and learn about new entities for business purposes.
“Vinitaly 2025 closes with a successful edition – said Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere – in which the world of Italian wine has been able to express unity and ability to react, even in the face of the initial difficulties linked to the introduction of duties. Verona has reaffirmed itself as the European capital of wine” furthermore underlining how these represent “A strong signal, at a time that required clarity, cohesion and strategic vision”.
In representation of the Italian government, the Minister of Agriculture Lollobrigida, the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso they both were present as well as the ICE Agency, which collaborated to create and set up of the international buyers incoming plan.
Coming back to home and having a close look at Sicily, the Etna DOC Consortium, together with other Sicilian wineries, took a significant part in this edition by exhibiting inside Pavilion 2 Sicily with a section entirely dedicated to the wines of the volcano.
Our winery joined the trade fair as a co-exhibitor of the Etna Consortium and welcomed numerous visitors from different areas of Italy such as agents collaborating with us and ho.re.ca players) as well as from abroad especially from Northern Europe, USA, Canada and new ones from South East Asia.
Our wines, and in particular the Etna DOC Rosso 2022, were also protagonists at trade event at ICE international lounge and its “enoteca” for the entire duration of the fair to allow buyers to taste as well as during the aforementioned b2b organized by ITA Italian Trade agency which gave us the concrete opportunity to expand the chance to meeting with operators interested in evaluating new producers from Italy.
We found out a fully satisfying exhibition also due to Sicily’s appeal confirmation at basis and above all on volcanic wines which continuously give us hope about the direction where we will be headed to.
Verona, see you in 2026!
